Normand Godin's theatre adaptation of Longfellow's epic poem telling the sad love story of Évangéline and Gabriel who became separated during the 1755 deportation of Acadians from Grand-Pré. The adaptation depicts Évangéline's odyssey, incorporating many traditional songs. Through dance and corporal expression Évangéline's story takes on a visual character so that the traditional and savoury Acadian French of Baie Sainte-Marie becomes accessible to everyone. 2002 season: From July 13 to August 17.
